Call Walls, Put Walls, and Pin Days: Evidence Before the Magnet Story

Written by

Dual walls and pin narratives dominate social feeds. TradingFlow maps Call/Put GEX Walls, then places same-session flow beside them—without predicting a pin.

Social feeds love dual walls: a thick put wall below spot, a thick call wall above, and a story that price will pin in between. Sometimes the structure is real. The pin story is still a hypothesis.

TradingFlow’s job is to make the map and the same-session tape inspectable—not to sell a magnet guarantee.

Structure can sandwich spot between walls. That geometry is not a forecast. Always check whether same-session flow actually traded at those strikes.

What a wall is—and is not

In TradingFlow, Call and Put GEX Walls are structural concentrations from the selected gamma exposure scope (all expirations, 0DTE, weekly, or monthly). They answer:

Where is gamma structure concentrated on this chain snapshot?

They do not by themselves answer:

  • Will price pin?
  • Are dealers long or short inventory at that strike?
  • Should you buy or sell?

Options flow answers a different question: what traded this session at exact strikes.

Map walls in Rank Symbols

Open Rank Symbols, select SPY or SPXW, and open the symbol drawer GEX tab.

SPXW GEX structure with walls, regime, and strike profile

GEX tab: regime, flip, magnets, and strike profile. Read the map before treating any wall as a trade level.

A second, same-session Rank Symbols drawer capture shows the same Gamma Exposure (GEX) surface on another underlier—positive-gamma regime language, Call Wall / magnet labels, and expiry-scope chips (All / 0DTE / Weekly / Monthly):

Authenticated test-branch capture of the symbol inspection drawer → Gamma Exposure (GEX) tab. Values are session-specific; the layout is what readers reproduce on app.tradingflow.com.

Use the Chain tab for the strike ladder and OI/volume context:

Chain keeps the ladder readable while you compare structure to your price chart.

Fresh Chain-tab crop from the same drawer workflow: traded expiries and strike ladder.

Public reproduction: Rank Symbols → SPY GEX (sign-in and entitlements may apply). If query parameters do not restore the drawer, open the symbol row with Open symbol drawer, then switch to GEX.

Put same-session flow next to the walls

TradingFlow’s Session flow at mapped walls joins structure and tape with a narrow rule: exact strike, correct option type (calls at Call Wall, puts at Put Wall), and transparent verdicts—Flow-aligned, Flow-against, or Mixed.

Annotated GEX Flow Evidence with walls, verdicts, and audit cards

Flow Evidence places same-session Net DEX and premium beside canonical walls. The badge is a summary; audit cards show print counts and provenance. This is comparison, not a pin prediction.

Fresh Flow tab after Load flow evidence with wall alignment

Same Flow tab after Load flow evidence: Put/Call wall geometry, Flow-aligned / Flow-against status, and selected-scope GEX profile. Still a comparison—not a pin guarantee.

Full product write-up: GEX Flow Evidence.

Open SPY Flow Evidence when entitled, select Load flow evidence, then choose All / 0DTE / Weekly / Monthly scope.

Validate busy strikes on the tape

When a wall or magnet is near spot, open Option Trades or Historical and filter the symbol, expiry, and strike.

Live Option Trades for print-level confirmation near structure levels

Tape confirmation: did size actually print at the wall strike, and on which side of the quote? Side is not account identity.
