The job

See whether a signed premium mix repeated, without treating a streak as someone buying every day.

What this recipe computes

  • Daily signed mix: bullish-classified premium minus bearish-classified premium.
  • Signed tilt = (bullish days − bearish days) ÷ sessions.
  • Persistence = |tilt| × ln(1 + |net premium| in millions), ranked separately for bullish mix and bearish mix.

What it does not claim

  • A persistent mix is not directional conviction, opening status, or a named trader.
  • It is not the one-session Top Gainers confirmation score.
  • Trade-grain DEX is unsigned and is not the persistence number.

How to read it

  1. Step 1

    Run persistence

Open Multi-Session Flow Persistence Tracker in Cookbooks. Lengthen lookback if you want a slower streak.

  2. Step 2

    Read tilt, then size

Tilt near ±1 with tiny net premium is a quiet one-sided tape. Persistence scales by size so loud names surface.

  3. Step 3

Check OI if the mix matters

Pre-Move Positioning still asks whether size stayed on the book. This recipe only repeats the mix.

Frequently asked questions

Is a high persistence score a trend-follow signal?
No. It means the classified mix kept one sign. Rolls and hedges can do that. The recipe says so on the page.
How is this different from Top Gainers — Flow Confirmation?
That recipe scores one session’s gainers. This one ignores the spot move and only asks whether signed premium mixed the same way across several sessions.
